EVENT: The Intersection of Health and Tech: A Quest for Wellness

On May 22nd, UCIPT and the Student Alumni Association at UCLA will host an event for students and alumni who are interested in the intersection of health and technology. This event is designed for those who have an interest in innovative technical solutions to healthcare problems.

The event will begin with a keynote from UCIPT’s Executive Director, Dr. Sean Young, who will share his experience of starting as an ethnomusicology major at UCLA, to being the Executive Director at a healthcare and technology research institute. After the keynote, Dr. Young will moderate a panel of people in the healthcare and tech industries, including a representative from GoodRx, a company that helps its customers find the lowest prices for their prescription medications. The panel will be followed by an hour of free networking time. Refreshments will be served.

Students in majors like pre-med and computer science may have interest outside of their majors’ traditional ideals. There are pre-med students who are looking to make an impact in healthcare, but may not want to be doctors. Additionally, there are computer science majors who are looking to bring their skills to the healthcare industry. The Health and Tech event is designed to give these students a chance to network with each other and with other UCLA alumni. Our hope is that by bringing these groups together, students and alumni from both fields will collaborate and bridge the gap between healthcare and technology.

Join us on May 22nd from 7-9PM in the Founders’ Room at the James West Alumni Center at UCLA.
