About the Conference

HARMONICS 2026 brings together researchers, clinicians, artists, educators, and innovators to explore the growing role of music and sound in health, medicine, neuroscience, and clinical practice. The conference serves as a global platform for interdisciplinary dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration across the arts and sciences.

Through keynote talks, panel discussions, oral presentations, and poster sessions, HARMONICS 2026 will highlight emerging evidence, clinical applications, and creative approaches that advance understanding of how music and sound influence health and well-being, while shaping the future of music and medicine.

Conference Tracks & Topic Areas

Track 1: Basic and Translational Approaches

This track focuses on foundational and translational research examining the biological, neurological, and physiological mechanisms underlying music and health, including experimental and clinical music intervention studies.

Topic Areas Include:

  • Basic science research in music and health
  • Neuroscience and neuroimaging studies
  • Translational research connecting lab findings to clinical applications
  • Music intervention research: controlled trials, pilot studies, dose/frequency, and outcomes

This track highlights emerging technologies, innovative methodologies, and forward-looking approaches redefining music’s role in healthcare, education, and research.

Track 3: Experiential Music in Medicine

This track centers lived experiences, artistic practices, and humanistic perspectives, emphasizing how music is experienced and applied in healthcare contexts.

  • Patient and clinician perspectives
  • Music theory, composition, and conceptual frameworks
  • Film scoring and applied music in health-related settings
  • Experiential sessions and live performances (e.g., classic, jazz, rock, sound bath)

Call for Abstracts

HARMONICS 2026 invites submissions for oral presentations, poster sessions, and experiential demonstrations aligned with the conference tracks.

  • Abstract Format: Maximum 200 words; include title, authors, affiliations, and track selection
  • File Format: PDF or Word document
  • Submission Deadline: May 15, 2026
  • Review Process: Peer-reviewed by the conference committee
  • Acceptance Notification: July 15, 2026
